Liz Caballero, galerista por vocación y oficio, dialoga con Benjamin losada Posada.

Liz Caballero is an art historian, curator, and cultural manager. She is the founder and director of SKETCH, an independent contemporary art gallery based in San Felipe Distrito Creativo, Bogotá, which she founded in 2013. Since then, she has curated over 70 exhibitions and led numerous editorial, educational, and curatorial projects focused on emerging artists and the strengthening of the local art ecosystem.
She holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary and Post-War Art History from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, validated by the University of Manchester, and a BA (Hons) in Photography from Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London).
With over 20 years of experience in the art world —working in auction houses, galleries, and cultural projects not only in Bogotá but also in London, Paris, and Athens— Liz has built a solid career that combines curatorial sensibility, strategic vision, and community commitment.
She has been a speaker at specialized art forums, jury member for visual arts awards, and recipient of grants from institutions such as ProColombia, Idartes, the Ministry of Culture, and the Secretariat of Economic Development, supporting her ongoing cultural work in San Felipe Distrito Creativo.
She served as director of the Colombian Association of Art Galleries (AGAC) and currently remains its legal representative. She is also the creator of Noche San Felipe (Gallery Walk), a circuit that promotes gallery visits and public engagement with contemporary art. In addition, she worked for several years in the organization and management of the San Felipe Gallery Night.
